What I Do
Drawing on over two decades of insurance experience, I advise condominiums, cooperatives, and other clients on insurance-related matters, including the pursuit of complex claims. As a highly trained and experienced mediator, I also assist parties seeking efficient resolution of insurance disputes.
I represent condo and co-op boards and other policyholders in matters involving the interplay between insurance policies and governing documents. My work includes negotiating and litigating complex insurance claims; helping clients secure insurance coverage; evaluating insurance programs; addressing risk-management issues; and analyzing, drafting, and revising governing documents. I also work directly with adjusters on catastrophic losses.
My experience working in a range of roles across the insurance industry allows me to anticipate how issues will be evaluated and position my clients for better outcomes. I currently serve as general counsel to Genatt V Insurance Solutions, an insurance brokerage, where my work is heavily concentrated on condos and co-ops. Previously, I acted as outside counsel to primary and excess insurance carriers and served as general counsel and risk manager for a corporate policyholder with more than 100 locations.
As a mediator, I serve as a panel neutral for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and I am a Special Master for the NYS Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department. I am also a Chartered Casualty & Property Underwriter (CPCU) and licensed in New York as a Property & Casualty Broker and General Independent Adjuster.
