What I Do
I have been practicing housing and real estate law for over 40 years, with a concentration in the areas of cooperative and condominium board representation and commercial and residential real estate transactions.
I serve as general counsel to scores of cooperative and condominium boards; in that capacity, I represent them in a wide range of matters, including construction contracts, access-license agreements, employment issues, financings, and corporate governance. Transactions I advise on include leases, all types of purchase and sale agreements, financing, and workouts.
My focus on real estate matters began in my first year of law school, when I worked for a small, Manhattan-based law firm that specialized in housing law. There, I represented tenant associations in negotiating the conversion of rental properties throughout New York City, in addition to handling litigation and transactional matters and representing cooperative and condominium boards of directors and managers.
In 1986, I co-founded Finder Novick Kerrigan LLP, where I continued to grow my housing and commercial real estate practice. Along with my partners from Finder Novick Kerrigan, I joined Braverman Greenspun in 2023.
I have lectured extensively on real estate issues and have been quoted by numerous media outlets, including The New York Times.
